All songs recorded live to an Otari MX 5050 1/2" 8 track tape machine. Vocals,keys, and horns overdubbed. Mixed and masted to cassette. Spring reverb and a Echoplex tape delay were also used.

Yo, I think its safe to tell now.. our second full-length record "Hail the Goer" is being released by the new local label Roaring Colonel. It will be released on virgin vinyl 12" records (shit yea) and compact disc as well as digitally. Indianapolis release date is late July, worldwide is August. The name of this band is We Are Hex.

just kinda watching this over and over again. once looking at the screen, than away from the screen listening to the sounds, at, away, repeat. i remember reading an interview with ron asheton and him talking about the first stooges show and how they put a little bit of water in a blender and mic'd it up and let it go for about 15 minutes before they played. also iggy would put on golf shoes and just kinda dance around the stage loudly.

dunno if it gets any better than sitting around in a dark room with the only lights being the glow of my computer and the distorted burnt film shorts of brakhage. i have a high life and have smoked on some really sweet mid's which can't be hurting this feeling either, but its precious, the moment. this tends to be a recurring ending for my nights as of late, can't complain.

so yeah, i'm booking a tour and we have a new record coming out in july as well as a few other releases to follow soon after that. we hope to be on a coast to coast tour starting in july as well, fingers crossed.

We Are Hex - A Show for the Ghosts / Live at Central State Sick Hospital / Indianapolis, IN

We invited ourselves in one late November night with some music gear a few mics a generator and a mobile recording rig. Central Indiana Hospital for the Insane was a psychiatric treatment hospital that closed for good in 1994 (all the buildings are abandon and falling apart besides one that is now housing the Indiana History of Medicine Museum) . A handful of the buildings on the sizable campus are still standing and we just picked one with easy access. Established in 1896 Central State opened with five patients and by 1928 close to 3,000 patients called the hospital home.

Our main goal was to show up and do some on the spot improvisation pieces or "jams" and get it all recorded then get out. "Tumbler" was a piece we had spent a little time on at the haus and decided to give it a go in this session, the rest of this set is all improve. All the songs were recorded in one take weather we liked it or not. We waited as long as we could for the mushrooms and heeby jeebies to kick in before we started off this show.

Patient abuse was a huge reason for Central State closing its doors. Its said that employees would kill,beat, and rape patients and often bury the bodies in the yards of the hospital.

I hope that some of them heard the show.

I remember hearing Blood Visions for the first time a few years back. I started picking deeper and deeper into Jay's material and then I put together that he wrote, played, and recorded everything himself. DAMN! my head was spinning. It hit me in the chest today driving home when I put on my favorite song by Jay "Hammer I Miss You" I really did feel it, my straight and narrow everyday life got a jolt of confusion, or whatever the emotion was, it hit me.

Hammer, you will be missed.
